Terms of Service

Data Ownership

Your hālau owns all of its data. Haumea Technologies LLC acts as a steward of that data, not an owner. We hold your data in trust, maintain it with care, and return it to you whenever you ask. This principle is non-negotiable.

Access Roles

The platform defines four permission-based access roles:

• • Admin — Full platform access, billing management, data export, and user administration
• • Kumu — Class management, curriculum tools, attendance, and haumāna progress tracking
• • Board — Financial reports, governance dashboards, and committee coordination
• • Haumāna — Personal dashboard, class schedules, assigned materials, and payment history

Export Rights

Your data is yours and you can take it with you at any time:

• • CSV and JSON export available directly from the Admin dashboard at any time
• • Complete data archive available via email request within 7 business days
• • All exports provided at no cost

Cancellation Policy

We believe your data should never be held hostage. If you choose to leave:

• • No exit fees or cancellation penalties
• • 30-day grace period with full platform access after cancellation
• • Complete data archive delivered within 14 days of request
• • Permanent data deletion after 90 days
• • Written deletion confirmation provided to the Admin

Pricing Changes

• • 90 days advance written notice before any pricing change takes effect
• • Pricing review at the 50-hālau milestone to ensure sustainability and fairness
• • Beta hālau are grandfathered at their original pricing tier

Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Stripe. The following Stripe-imposed fees apply:

• • 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (standard card processing)
• • +0.7% for recurring subscription payments
• • +1.5% for international cards
• • 0.8% for ACH payments (max $5.00 per transaction)

Disputed charge fees ($15 per dispute) are absorbed by Haumea Technologies LLC — your hālau will never be billed for a chargeback.

Continuity of Service

In the event that Haumea Technologies LLC winds down operations:

• • Minimum 90 days written notice before any wind-down
• • Full data access maintained throughout the notice period
• • Migration assistance provided at no additional cost

Transparency

An annual transparency report is shared with all hālau on the platform. This report covers platform health, security posture, pricing considerations, and any material changes to infrastructure or policy.
